Dear friends and students,

It is a privilege to share my views with you. After more than a decade of persistent striving for excellence, today I feel I can say that the Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital has achieved many of the objectives it began with.

Over the years, I have watched the institution grow at a healthy rate with more and more students from all parts of country trying to gain admission here. No doubt, the fine faculty, facilities and high level of academics we offer have proved their merit for our student.

Students of the Sharavathi Dental College have garnered commendable results. We have an average of 80% class results and I am proud to announce that our college has achieved a pass percentage of 95 this academic year (2004-2005). Many of our students regularly participate in State & National level conferences and have also presented a number of scientific papers on a variety of dentistry–related topics including new trends in the industry.

On behalf of the institution, I feel a great sense of accomplishment in having climbed these steps in making my beloved father’s dreams come true; that of making the Sharavathi Dental College amongst the best in its field and certainly the finest educational trust in our home district of Shimoga. Still, we must never rest on our laurels. In the words of poet Robert Frost, “we have miles to go before we sleep.” We have some way to go before we are satisfied that we have fulfilled all our dreams. However, with each passing year I grow increasingly confident that we will reach every goal we set our sights on.
